At i-SKY Global Preschool and Day Care, children learn best when concepts are introduced through meaningful, hands-on experiences. Our shapes, balance and number activity was designed to make early mathematics engaging while supporting children’s concentration, coordination and problem-solving abilities.

Through this activity, children explored basic shapes, numbers and balance-based learning in an age-appropriate way. Instead of simply memorising numbers and shapes, children were encouraged to observe, identify, match and interact with learning materials independently.

Learning Through Shapes and Numbers

Recognising shapes and numbers for preschool children is an important part of early mathematical development. Activities involving circles, squares, triangles and other basic shapes help children understand visual differences, while number-based activities introduce early counting and number recognition.

The activity encouraged children to:

Developing Balance and Coordination

The balance component added a physical-learning element to the activity. Children had to focus on their movements while interacting with the learning materials. This helps develop gross motor skills, body coordination, balance and spatial awareness.

Combining physical movement with early numeracy makes learning more interactive and memorable for young children.

A Hands-On Approach to Early Learning

At i-SKY Global Preschool and Day Care, we believe that learning through play and practical activities can help children develop concepts naturally. Our classroom experiences integrate academic learning with motor development, creativity, communication and social skills.

Activities such as number recognition activities, shape recognition activities, balance activities for preschoolers and hands-on math activities give children opportunities to learn while actively participating.
